Chesters Plumbing & Bathroom is a family company started by Grant Chester in 1973, we are well established with 13 branches across the North Island. Our branches display a large range of quality bathroom products with dynamic showrooms. 

What will you do?

Based at our Albany branch you will be learning all about our Inwards Goods and Trade Counter, so you may be a school leaver looking for a company where you can progress and grow. This is an awesome opportunity to gain some valuable experience in our Branch whilst learning the ropes on stock receipting, stock allocation, stock takes, organising deliveries, processing sales and most importantly assisting our fantastic customers. Heaps of variety to your day so you’ll need to bring lots of energy, be reliable and have attitude to learn. This role would suit someone wanting to get into a trade.

Hours of work are 7.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday with rostered Saturdays.

What are we looking for?

  • People person
  • A physically fit person who is able to lift heavy gear when required
  • A great sense of humour and a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Previous part time work experience is a bonus

Chesters Plumbing & Bathroom Centre is a family company started by Grant Chester in 1973, we have 13 branches in the North Island. We sell plumbing & bathroom products to plumbers, gasfitters, drainlayers, builders & home owners.

It’s not all good fun and games, there are some responsibilities, such as:

  • Serving customers on the counter
  • Turning up Monday to Friday (rostered Saturday work)
  • General warehouse duties
  • Eating lunch at least once a day

Plumbing knowledge is great however if you don’t have any we have full onsite training to get you up to speed.

About the role:

Based at our Head Office, you will..

  • Be responsible for accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Placing purchase orders
  • Reconcile invoice or statement discrepancies
  • Process/check payments and sales
  • Provide administration support to the Management Accountant and other team members 

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm, flexibility available.

  • Experienced with accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Organised and methodical
  • An excellent communicator
  • Able to use your initiative with a can do attitude

  • Skilled with Microsoft Office products and able to pick up accounting software quickly
  • Inventory exposure is a bonus
